It started with the Mayan prophecy and now, the end of the world predictions are heightening because the fateful date stated in those predictions which is December 21, 2012 is just around the corner. No matter what type of media you look into - be it online, print, radio, TV - you can definitely find various stories and reports regarding the foretold upcoming destruction of Earth and all life in it.
This 2012 doomsday had its origins from the Mayan prophecy wherein an enormous change that will greatly affect the whole world is bound to happen after the said civilization's calendar system ends in December 21, 2012 and starts all over again. It wasn't clear though if the prophecy did mean that the great change would be the end of life on Earth as we know it. However, this didn't stop the speculations to arise. Now, the survival for 2012 has been in the minds of many of our fellowmen.
If you really want to survive 2012, what you need is only three things. First is knowledge or having sufficient information that can be of great use to you whenever you need it. The problem with these theories and predictions is that they come in different and so many versions you don't know what to believe or where to start. Keep in mind that you don't have to believe everything but you can at least try to store most of those details in your brain so when time comes, you know what to do.
Aside from gaining knowledge, you simply have to enhance your survival skills. These are basic skills that many of us don't have anymore especially if you were born and lived in comfort and convenience. Perhaps one of those basic and very important survival skills that you need to learn and improve is lighting a fire without using matches or any other modern tools. Hunting or searching for food and protecting yourself at all times are two other skills you need to survive 2012.
You can get by with just knowledge and skills but it is best if you have strong faith as well. Those two factors mentioned earlier will not be as useful as they should be if you lack trust in what you can do. Believe in yourself. Believe that you can make it through and you will. It doesn't necessarily mean faith based on any religion or whatsoever. Just a strong faith in yourself and you're good to go.
Faith You may have skills and knowledge but if you don't believe that you are going to make it, chances are you won't. You have to have faith in yourself. If your faith is based on religion, you should have a strong one. The point here is that you trust in what you can do and you have to do everything that you possibly can to survive 2012, because if you lose hope easily, that will do you no good.
